KOHIMA, FEB 1 (MExN): The first NPF central office bearers’ meeting was held on January 31 at hotel Japfu, where concern over factional clashes and killings was expressed. The state’s administrative machineries, police, security forces and the public were also appreciated for preventing further deterioration of law and order in the state.
The party expressed deep concern over the quit notice served by the NSCN-K to the Tangkhuls in Nagaland and added that considering such action would go down in the annals of Naga history adversely, the NPF appealed to the NSCN-K to withdraw the quit notice on humanitarian ground.
While appreciating N Kitovi Zhimomi, Ato Kilonser of NSCN-K for tendering apology to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his family the NPF further appreciated Isak Chishi Swu, Chairman of the NSCN-IM for the proclamation urging for forgiveness and tendering apology to the general public in the name of Almighty God. They also appealed to the “national workers” to adhere to the declaration made by them and thereby refrain from fratricidal violence.
The members also appreciated outgoing Governor of Nagaland, Shyamal Datta for his love and concern for the people of Nagaland and also for his steadfastness in upholding the Constitution of India.
