NPF candidate Dr Ato stresses on transparency and accountability

Kohima, February 16 (MExN): The first Common Platform for the candidates of 9th Kohima Town Assembly Constituency was held at PWD Colony main junction here on February 15.

A press release from NPF Press & Media Cell, 9th Kohima Town A/C informed that Dr. Tsielhoutuo Rhutso, popularly called Dr Ato, of NPF took the stage to share his intentions and objectives.

A new comer in electoral politics, Dr Ato shared the need for transparency and accountability in governance and urged the voters to allow him a chance to be the mouthpiece of the common people in the government, it said.

“A surgeon par excellence, disenchanted with the limitations of medical practice in the service, he started private practice and a hospital to be able to serve the people on a larger scale and is satisfied with the Medical Platform which is a gift from God,” the NPF press note said of the candidate.

“Yet, seeing the state of affairs today, and the wide divide between the rich and the poor, he felt the need for a political platform as well to bring Governance to the common people, a government which is run by the people. A government which will listen to the criticism and suggestions of the people and run the public affairs in honesty, commitment and with integrity,” the release added.

Ato also shared his concerns regarding roads, water, electricity, schools and health for development and progress.

Terming the 9th Kohima Town A/C as a mini Nagaland, where all the different tribes of the state reside, he shared his dream of transforming the capital town into a model of development with good governance, transparency and accountability which can be replicated all over the State with the support and cooperation of each electorate in the constituency.

While inviting the electorates to cast their valuable votes, he assured that his first gift from God as a surgeon shall continue, and he will provide his assistance when the electorates desire his service as a medical surgeon.

Ato further asserted that NPF will form the next government, and urged upon all the electorates to bless him with their votes and collectively work for betterment of the constituency and its people.

“Let us take up the challenges collectively to bring changes, no matter how small the beginning maybe… changes has to start from within individuals; let us take the initiative, changing ourselves into our desired homeland,” the NPF candidate urged.

The press release informed that Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire of NDPP, the sitting MLA for the second tenure, could not attend the Common Platform due to prior engagement as stated by his chief agent.
