NPF claims DAN’s financial credentials “beyond doubt”

Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The NPF today claimed that the “credentials” of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland Government is “beyond doubt” in “respect of financial management.” The ruling party even claimed that “it can be substantiated by the degree of centre-state confidence established between the DAN government with Shri N. Rio as the chief minister and the Union Government.”

“The credentials of the DAN Government in respect of financial management is beyond doubt and it can be substantiated by the degree of centre-state confidence established between the DAN government with Shri N. Rio as the chief minister and the Union Government,” the NPF Press bureau stated in response to the Congress Legislature Party.

The NPF referred to doubts raised by CLP Leader Tokheho Yepthomi on the state road shows with reference to the Pungro road show which ran into trouble earlier. “The road shows are introduced by the DAN Government with keen interest to take its (DAN Govt.) multi dimensional development policies  to the under privileged grass root denizens in far flung areas of the state to relieve them of the difficulties involved for the common man to visit Kohima or any other district headquarters on their own.”

The NPF claimed that road shows provide “amble opportunities to the common men to interact with large number of ministers, parliamentary secretaries, senior bureaucrats, head of departments and skilled artists of various trades etc. and on the other hand, the road shows perform as an excellent platform for these VIPs to listen to the woes of the grass root populace and work towards finding remedies to their problems at all levels…”

For these reasons, the NPF asserted, the government’s effort “should be appreciated”.

The NPF also said it fails to understand “as to why its nomenclature Naga People’s Front is disturbing the CLP leader as he proclaimed that it (Naga People’s Front) projects us as the ‘champions for the cause of the Nagas’”. A regional political party with the “Cock symbol”, the NPF said, “has always strived for the all round wellbeing of the Nagas, upholding and safeguarding the identity and culture of the Nagas including Nagas of all Naga inhabited areas within…” It will continue to do so and “in the process, with all consistency, tolerance and patience, its (NPF) vision to spread its wings (as a political party) in other states in association with all like minded people has emerged as a hard earned possibility.”

The NPF claimed further that “in consideration of the above facts,” the two BJP legislators and the state unit merged with the NPF; four MLAs who resigned from the Congress and contested the by-elections on NPF party tickets won. This, the party claimed “speaks volumes about the credibility of Naga People’s Front in the eyes of the people” and the fact that peoples’ “mandate to the DAN government grows and grows can not be denied.”

The NPF also claimed that the “magnitude of developmental activities undertaken for developing any under developed states/countries, financial deficits in government funds is imminent and the DAN Government’s sincere efforts towards all round developmental activities and achievements towards promoting peoples’ welfare is impossible without investment of funds and for which Nagaland state enjoys the confidence and sympathy of the Central government.”
