NPF, Cong resignation drama: BJP

Dimapur, November 19 (MExN): The Nagaland State BJP Unit lambasted both the NPF and Congress on their “Resignation game” as a stage drama, trying to gain political mileage out of the ongoing peace talk.  “It is only an eye-wash on the part of Joint Legislators Forum-JLF”, stated a press note issued by Dr M.Chuba State BJP President and K. James Vizo Spokesman and General Secretary.

The Party further stated that there is complete lack of seriousness in them and demanded that both parties should resign en- mass. As a matter of fact, the Nagaland BJP pointed out that the winter session of Parliament will be starting from 22nd November 2012 onward but till now the Business Advisory Committee has not asked any suggestion/advice and there is no clue or indication of tabling the Naga Political issue, the Nagaland BJP has informed.

Moreover, by February’ 2013, the Budget session will start and whereas Election will be due by March 2013, so there is no chance of solution before the State Assembly Election, the press note stated. Stating that the Naga people in general are “put into confusion by talking about solution before election”, whereas the BJP pointed out that in reality it was quite different.

“The issue is complex in nature. It needs to be routed out in both the houses and the participation of major opposition political parties is going to play a crucial role”, the BJP Nagaland stated while adding that “both the NPF and the Congress are feeling quite insecure and both are not sure of winning the number of seats at hand”.

The BJP Nagaland also took note that there are “two anti- incumbency factors already developed, one in the State against the ruling NPF and the other against the ruling Congress in the Centre”. “The common people cannot be taken for a ride every time, the in-complacent attitude of the ruling party is viewed seriously”.

The press note also recalled that  during the NDA regime, through the effort of 7 BJP State  legislators, the State could procure special packages of more than Rs  1000 crores  and wipe off the state deficit of Rs 365 crores  liabilities. The State BJP Unit suggested to both the NPF and the Congress parties to stop the Resignation game and start working for the people. “Let the Congress bring fund from the ruling Centre Govt. for the state development and let the ruling NPF execute it transparently”.
