Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) did not consult its government allies in deciding a candidate for the Aonglenden constituency by-polls, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) stated today. A note issued by vice president of Nagaland NCP unit N Hotongse Sangtam said the ruling party ‘never consulted officially’ with the allies.
“The NPF never consulted officially regarding the candidature of the DAN candidate for the upcoming by-election at 26 Aonglenden which means the NPF has no respect politically for his other coalition national parties, therefore the question of DAN government now does not arise,” the NCP note stated.
The DAN government was formed as a coalition of various national parties, the note said. In addition, the NCP has informed that leaders for Wokha and Longleng districts would be appointed while for Tuensang and Mon units’ office bearers would be appointed after the by-polls.
