NPF express concern over Tribalist remarks on killing

Dimapur June 19 (MExN): While denouncing the brutal murder of Khoney Chang at Kohima, the NPF Central Office has expressed serious concern over “some Naga leaders” ‘whipping’ up tribalist sentiments in reaction to the incident.

It ma be mentioned that late Khonay Chang, a staffer of the PHED, Kohima was killed by a group of youths in Kohima. 

“While joining hands with the entire section of our society in denouncing such heinous crimes and savage crime against humanity, the NPF express concern over the manner in which some Naga leaders have whipped up ‘tribalism.”’ a statement from NPF Press Secretary stated. However, the party did not elaborate on the parties involved further. 

The NPF implied that such sentiment expressed would not further any solution for curbing such likedned crimes. “At this critical juncture (such sentiments) which will in no way do any good to the Nagas” the NPF reminded the people. 

The party urged the concern authorities to take appropriate action against the culprits in accordance with the law of the land. It also lauded the Nerhema Village Council for excommunicating the perpetrators of the crime in line with customary practices. 

The NPF also conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty Lord would console them at this time of grief and sorrow as well as grant peace to the departed soul.
