Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president Kewekhape Therie today said that NPF is heading for a crush in the State.

He said this while countering the remark of Chief Minister Dr. Shürhozelie Leizietsu in the recent CEC meeting of NPF that “Congress era is over in the state.”

Addressing a press conference here at Congress Bhavan after NPCC meeting, he said the NPCC was confident that the people are determined for change and people will deliver judgment very soon.

“What more do the people expect from NPF,” he asked, adding that whatever they have done it has damaged and brought Nagaland state backward.

On the matter of amendment of Nagaland Municipal Act, Therie said the NPCC strongly opposes formation of Advisory Committees as such is without constitutional authority and it would amount to violation of Municipal Act.

He said if necessary, the NPCC will go for judiciary and see that it does not happen.

Regarding ban of cattle slaughter, Therie said the NPF CEC in its recent resolution did not even have guts to name beef or cow and instead used “Dietary restriction”.

NPF was scared of displeasing the BJP, it alleged.
