
Kiphire, Dec 30 (MExN): The Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF) of Kiphire district has reacted to the news item ‘DCC Kiphire clarifies on police appointment’ issued by the President District Youth Congress which appeared in some local dailies on December 22 wherein it was mentioned that the DCC was not aware of the seventy one recruitment of police personnel on November 9, since the ‘appointment was done at the resident of C. Kipili Sangtam, Parliamentary secretary (LRD) in Kohima’. The news item also mentioned that the SP Kiphire had on November 18 issued an abeyance order in the appointment issue, however Kipili Sangtam on November 22 directed the SP to accept the joining report of the 71 police appointees.
A press statement issued by Chumlongse Sangtam, Secretary (Adm) Divisional Unit and Tsili Mongzar, General Secretary 60 A/c clarified that the seventy one police appointment were done after proper verification of all the educational certificates of the candidates in the Office of the SP Kiphire and not in the residence of the Parliamentary Secretary as alleged in the news report.
The release further stated that C. Kipili Sangtam, Parliamentary Secretary under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio had declared 59 A/C as one of the fastest developing constituencies in Nagaland. Clarifying that no false statement was made in the constituency, the release mentioned the various new road connectivity initiated in the area. It also mentioned the joint effort made by Torechu Yim MLA and Chairman DPDB and the Parliamentary Secretary to upgrade the Kiphire Sub-division to that of District Headquarter and establishment of District Sports office, District Statistical Office, Supdt. of Sericulture, Project Director, DRDA Office, District Projector Officer of LRD, District Planning Office and District Horticulture Office. The NPF Kiphire district further mentioned that as committed by the Chief Minister, N. Rio, the construction of Town Hall was under process unlike the regime of the Congress when the ‘former Chief Minister of Nagaland inaugurated the Water supply Phase II Old Reservoir, white washed a day before his arrival to Kiphire’.
The NPF division further advised the opposition youth leader of Kiphire division ‘to maintain positive approach instead of leveling false allegations to the elected members and commenting upon the behavior of the able ruling party President’.
