NPF Kohima Division, Youth Wing ‘welcome’ severing of ties with BJP

Kohima, July 19 (MExN): The Central Youth Wing of the Naga People’s Front and the party’s Kohima Division have fully endorsed and “wholeheartedly” welcomed the severing of ties with the BJP.

The NPF severed ties with its DAN coalition partner BJP as part of a five point resolution adopted during an Emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council, Central Office Bearers, Division Presidents and frontal organization office bearers at Kohima on July 18.

“Divine intervention has opened the eyes of the NPF party leaders to sever ties with idol worshippers where, under the guise of a political element - BJP has been intruding into the Christian state - Nagaland and other parts of Indian state with hidden agenda,” a press release from the NPF Youth Wing stated adding that the severing of ties with the BJP echoes the “sentiments, faith, belief” of true Christians who have been “silently kneeling down in prayers against the anti Christian activities and persecutions in the country.”

The Central Youth Wing further appealed all Christians not to be influenced by such “anti-Christian” political parties and fervently beseeched all to continue praying for the NPF party.

In a separate press release, the NPF Kohima Division also expressed full support to the five point resolution and further questioned the commitment and sincerity of the legislators who are against Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu.

The Division also strongly condemned the actions of Governor PB Acharya while accusing him of “misusing, abusing and tarnishing” the highest office of the state. Stating that the Governor was supposed to deliver justice without any prejudice or bias and safeguard the rights of the citizens, it argued that Acharya has “miserably failed to uphold the Constitution”.

The Kohima Division further reaffirmed its full support to the President Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu.
