NPF Legislature Party: Any coalition should be through the ‘front door’

DIMAPUR, MARCH 8 (MExN): The NPF Legislature Party today issued a statement with regard to the letter written by 19 NPF MLAs and signed by those present at the time of drafting the letter, which appeared in the media on March 8.

A press note from the NPF Legislature Party meanwhile stated that the letter was an internal party matter and not meant for the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP). It therefore expressed surprise at the “knee jerk” response of the NDPP.

The NPF Legislature Party further stated that any effort for a coalition should be through a “front door approach and not through back door approach.”

It added that the legislature party is “genuinely concerned over the current burning issues being faced by the state specially the Naga Political issue and CAB 2016 and their political polarization in the region.”

“Therefore, NPF-LP discussed and decided to write to our Party Legislature Leader and to have consultation with the President NPF Nagaland on the possibility of a regional party alliance within the State before LS Election,” it added.
