Imphal, November 26 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front Manipur State Unit has strongly condemned arrest of UNC President Gaidon Kamei and Information Secretary Stephen Sangkhil and further demanded their immediate and unconditional release from Police custody. In a press release, the NPF Manipur unit informed of an emergency sitting late last evening at the party office and discussed the prevailing situation. Condemning the physical assault on Sangkhil, the NPF Manipur unit maintained that the issue cannot be resolved by arresting the UNC leaders. Stating that the situation may worsen if the government fails to handle the issue properly, the NPF Manipur appealed to the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister to solve the present imbroglio amicably. The NPF Manipur further appealed to all sections of the people in the state to maintain peace and tranquility.
