After winning a majority in the recent ULB Election 2024 from Phek Town Council (PTC), the 7 Naga People’s Front (NPF) elected candidates including one Independent today met Phek Deputy Commission John Tsulise Sangtam to stake claim to form PTC under the consensus proposed chairmanship of Shevohu Nienu.
The candidates were accompanied by MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, Leader of NPF Legislature Party.
Out of 11 wards within PTC, NPF won 7 seats, NDPP- 3 and Independent- 1. Meanwhile, Azo congratulated all the winners including all candidates of the recently concluded ULB elections. “I give all the credit to God Almighty and the people of Phek town for reposing their confidence in the NPF party,” Azo told The Morung Express. He firmly believed that with the new set of leadership would soon be taking over the affairs of the Town, “changes will surely happen in a few years from now for the better.”
