
Dimapur, January 12 (MExN): The Naga People's Front (NPF) Mon Division reaffirmed to “courteously face” in principle to the notification of the Election Commission for the forthcoming election to Urban Local Bodies in the state slated on February 1.
The reaffirmation motion was adopted in a meeting held in its office on January 12, informed a press note from NPF Mon Secretary (Press) Hongnaw HA Konyak.
“The Divisional officials in unison guaranteed to actively execute the task until the victorious conclusion of the party candidates contesting to Tobu, Aboi, Naginimora and Tizit town councils where the electioneering process is deepening and serious in combating the elections,” it said.
The division further congratulated nine NPF candidates from Mon district who are contesting without their opponents and will probably be “declared elected as and when the process of voting is officially over.”
It further extended its best wishes to the remaining party candidates from the district as well as from entire state in the fray.
The NPF Mon Division also fervently beseeched the governmental officials, the NGOs and Civil societies, law enforcing agencies to actively cooperate with the competent authority administering the election process.
