Mokokchung, February 18 (MExN): Minister and senior NPF leader Imkong L Imchen has asserted Naga political problem is primary to the NPF party and that all other issues are secondary.
NPF is seeking the mandate of the Naga people so that its government can bring an early and honorable solution to the protracted Naga political problem, he stated during the Mokokchung division NPF election campaign kickoff at Mokokchung Town on February 17.
A press release from NPF Press Bureau further quoted Imkong as saying, “Our commitment to resolve the Naga political issue has been steadfastly constant and unshakeable and our party was the first to start the slogan of ‘Solution Before Election’ when our party-led Government passed a Resolution in the Assembly on December 15, 2017 urging the Government of India to solve the Naga political problem before holding elections to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.”
MLA Nuklutoshi, who is contesting on NPF ticket from Arkakong constituency, also speaking on the occasion, assured the Chief Minister that all ten candidates of the party from the district plus another Ao candidate from Dimapur district will return to the 13th House and extend unflinching support to him, the release said.
Meanwhile, MLA Dr Benjongliba Aier, who is contesting from Jangpetkong constituency on NPF ticket, informed the Chief Minister that all the party’s candidates in Mokokchung district have comfortable advantages over their rivals, it added.
The release also informed that former minister and present NPF candidate from Mongoya constituency Dr Ngangshi Ao assured the Chief Minister TR Zeliang that the candidates and leaders gathered in the programme would go to their respective constituencies and educate the people properly.
The former minister made special mention of the party president of the division Moasangba describing him as “a dynamic stalwart of the party having sterling qualities as a leader and an inspiration to the rank and file of party men and women,” and requested party leadership to “reward him befittingly in the days to come for his loyalty, dedication and contribution to the NPF party,” the release added.
