Kohima, October 16 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) today welcomed the meeting initiated by the Union Home Ministry on October 15 in Delhi, which saw the participation of elected representatives from the Naga, Kuki, and Meitei communities of Manipur.
“This meeting is timely, as tensions continue to disrupt peace and harmony among these ethnic groups,” the party stated, further viewing it as a critical step for initiating meaningful dialogue aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Manipur.
In a statement issued by its Press Bureau, the NPF noted that recent media reports had indicated varying perspectives on the nature and outcomes of the meeting, with some sources expressing optimism about reconciliation and others voicing skepticism regarding the willingness of all parties to engage constructively.
In light of these differing viewpoints, the NPF urged all participants to approach the discussions with an open mind, a spirit of reconciliation, and mutual respect.
The NPF anticipates a renewed commitment from all parties to ensure the protection and safety of all citizens, while conveying that it remains supportive of any initiative that promotes the welfare of all communities and restores normalcy in the state.
