NPF will form Govt with thumping majority: TR

Tuensang, February 15 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister and NPF Chief Ministerial candidate, TR Zeliang on Thursday exuded confidence that the Naga People’s Front would form the next government.

NPF, being the oldest and longest surviving regional Party in North-East India, has "guided" the Naga people since its inception in 1963 and would form the next Government by March 13, Zeliang said while addressing the ‘Kick-off Campaign’ of NPF Tuensang Division at Tuensang Town. This was stated in a press release from the NPF Central’s Press Bureau.

Zeliang recalled the various events since the Party’s inception, especially the Assembly Elections of 1998 where the NPF Party heeding to the voice of the Naga people abstained from participating in the elections, and insisted, “The NPF Party had led the Nagas in the past, it is leading the Nagas today and it will continue to lead the Nagas in the future.”

Also addressing the Party’s kick-off Campaign in the newly created District of Noklak, Zeliang cited the various developmental activities, particularly road connectivity, taking place in the new District.

“Unlike other political parties, we are highlighting what is taking place and not what will take place,” he told the gathering there.

Stating that “trouble-makers” in the NPF Party had formed NDPP, Zeliang expressed his hope that the NPF Party without them would restore and strengthen the image of the State.

As such, Zeliang called on the citizens of the State to extend their precious mandate to the NPF Party so that a popular Government led by the NPF Party would be formed.
