Naga People’s Front (NPF) youth wing of 8th Western Angami A/C undertook election campaign to Menguzouma village for the party candidate Keneizhakho Nakhro on Saturday.
Speaking at the programme, Atou Liezietsu, president, youth wing of the A/C and Associate Press Secretary NPF Central maintained that Nagaland is facing enormous challenges with various forces “alien to our society trying to penetrate into our land, which the Naga people will regret one day if we do not preserve and protect our identity.”
He stressed that NPF must be restored back to form the government and represent the Naga people so it can deliver justice to the Naga people.
If we are concerned for the welfare of the Naga people and their development, the NPF is the only option to take forward the Naga people and may counter any alien forces which may distort our identity and the society, he said.
He believed that 2018 general election is very crucial and a turning point for the Naga people.
Atou also asserted NPF is not just a mere political party like others which come and go only for the election, but “our gateway for development and preserving our Naga identity.”
“We all can see many new political parties which is alien to us is aggressively penetrating into our land; many of our tall Naga leaders just for their sheer power and love for money had succumbed to it,” he noted, adding the NPF and Naga people “will never allow such power monger leaders to assassinate our peaceful Naga society.”
In just few days and months, he said, many new political parties have floated into the state and propagating tall promises, “but the Naga people also no more remain a fool and blind.”
Describing the recent crisis within the NPF as a blessing in disguise, he further stated the party is now more comfortable with only the like-minded leaders who can truly work for the Naga people.
The youth president was confident that the NPF alone will cross the magic number in the 60 house and form the next government. Terming it significant that the founding member of the regional NPF party is from the 8th Western Angami A/C, he also urged the constituency to elect the NPF candidate.
Meanwhile, NPF CEC member Lhousaruovi Paul reminded the gathering that NPF is one of the oldest regional parties that specially focus and work for the development of the people and to preserve the identity and culture of Naga people. He challenged them not to fall prey to money power but take the right step to elect the right leader. Youth wing leaders, villagers and others also spoke in the programme.
