Dimapur, October 30 (MExN): The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland today expressed deep concern over the prolonged stalemate arising out of the IAS induction issue, which it said has led to disruption of normal government functioning and public inconvenience.
The ongoing pen-down strike and agitation by various service associations under the banner of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) have brought several administrative services to a standstill, directly affecting the lives of ordinary citizens who depend on these essential services on a daily basis, the party said.
While acknowledging the efforts of both the State Government and the JCC to engage in dialogue and explore possible ways of resolving the matter, the NPP also expressed appreciation for the step taken by the Chief Secretary’s Office in calling meetings to facilitate discussion.
However, the party sincerely appealed to the State Government to take decisive and compassionate steps to resolve the issue at the earliest in order to restore public confidence and ensure that basic services are resumed without further delay.
“Every issue, no matter how complex, can be resolved through sincere dialogue, transparency, and mutual respect,” it added.
An amicable solution to the current stalemate is in the interest of all stakeholders—government, employees, and the public—the NPP stated.
In this connection, the NPP Nagaland urged both parties to continue engaging in constructive talks and to rise above differences for the greater good of the State.
It further expressed confidence that the State Government will be able to take a balanced and just decision that upholds meritocracy while addressing genuine grievances in a fair and transparent manner.
“The NPP reiterates its faith in democratic dialogue and good governance and calls upon all concerned to restore normalcy in the interest of the people of Nagaland,” it added.
The JCC is comprised of the Confederation of All Nagaland State Service Employees’ Association (CANSSEA), Federation of Nagaland State Engineering Service Association (FONSESA), Nagaland Finance & Accounts Services Association (NF&ASA), Nagaland In-Service Doctors Association (NIDA), and Nagaland Secretariat Service Association (NSSA).
