DIMAPUR, MAY 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Public Rights Awareness Forum (NPRAAF) has given a 30-day ultimatum to the Department of Food & Civil Supplies to cancel 76 backdoor appointments of Grade III employees and declare it vacant for open competition.
The NPRAAF in a press statement through its president, Wedieu Kronu reminded that it had on two occasions laid in public domain through the local dailies about the irregularities and anomalous appointments in the department from January 2003 till March 2016.
However, in the midst of the demand, the department showed utter disregard to the issue by appointing three more LDAs on March 10, 2016 taking the tally from 73 to 76, it pointed out while demanding cancellation of the appointments within 30 days starting from May 19, 2016. The Forum said in the event of failure to meet their demands, it would undertake phase wise democratic protests and agitations to bring the issue of all irregular and anomalous appointments in the department to a logical conclusion.
