NPSC in double question paper trouble

Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): There are anomalies even in the model answer papers of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) examination and the Transparency Seekers Group is not at all happy. Earlier, the court had directed the commission to release to the candidates the model question/answer papers for the NPSC examinations 2006-2007.  The candidates have written to the secretary of the NPSC to ‘justify with reasonable answers’ on what grounds the questions numbered 61, 93, 115, 131, 175,185 and 190 “have no anomalies (sic).” The source of the answers was also demanded be made known and the same be furnished. Three questions numbered 99, 138 and 180 “had not been justified with reasonable answer” and on the same, been asked to be “justified.”

Further the questions/answer published in a local daily on July 14 by NPSC has been “wrongly published.” The group stated that, 12 questions for wrong answers and 3 questions for “debatable dated July12, 2007 received by the secretary NPSC on the same.” Without proper rectification the NPSC published the same, the group lamented. The NPSC’s reply of “no anomalies” published has not been supported by reasonable answers, the group also stated. They cited an instance, on the question numbered 180: “That according to this question, answer ‘unity and diversity’ in India is felt during a war with a foreign country. Therefore, we seek clarification on what basis the same is justifiable. The answer, questioned the very fundamental on which the Indian Constitution is based and it is also implies by the NPSC, that we should anticipate a war to have such feeling of unity.”  The NPSC keeps blaming the company engaged with setting the questions and correcting the same but the commission must take moral responsibility for the anomalies and discrepancies, the group added.
