NPYC calls on Naga youth to pursue positive change

Kohima, March 30 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) has called upon all Naga youth to come forward and join hands to work together in pursuing “positive change in our society”.

According to a press statement, the NPYC during its Emergency Executive Meeting held on March 30 at its Office Chamber, Kohima resolved to work steadfastly under the “able leadership” of K. Therie, President NPCC “so as to bring positive change to the present decaying system of governance in the state.”

“The present system of governance under some unscrupulous selfish leaders cannot continue to hold ransom to the future of our Naga youth,” the statement from the Youth Congress stated.

The youth cannot remain a “mute spectator” but should rise up and “champion the cause of the people”, the NPYC insisted and called on the youth to enroll in the organization “so as to voice together in unison”.

Observing that the frustration of the common man can be seen by the overwhelming backlash against the government, the NPYC contended that the ULB election imbroglio was part of “an accumulated outburst” of people’s anger.

Pointing to the recent exposure of massive Back-Door Appointment in various departments, mismanagement of Rs 597.63 Crore as reported by CAG, 373 Incomplete Projects in 36 departments, and deficit of Rs. 1437.84 crore budget etc., the NPYC maintained that the NPF-BJP DAN Government has lost “all sense of sincerity and transparency.”

“All these gross anomalies cannot be just wipe-off by simply saying ‘.....these mistakes will not be repeated in the future’ as stated by the present Chief Minister nor by saying ‘expunge’ to the corruption charges by the Speaker in the house,” it stated.

“Justice has to be delivered and that those victim backdoor appointees are suitably compensated by these very leaders personally for luring them into their highly integrated web of corruption.”

The NPYC further demanded the authorities and the State Governor to take utmost priority and promptly initiate necessary corrective actions as deemed fit to all the corruption charges.
