NPYC pained by ‘smear campaign’

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) has expressed pain at what it termed as the “constant smear campaign by Bobby Panicker against the NPCC leaders with his unending half truth and whole lies.”

“Though he has been expelled from the party w.e.f. January 27, 2024, his relentless attempts to mislead the people through media need to be exposed and show how he has been exploiting the good nature of our Naga people for decades,” a press release from the NPYC said.

It claimed that Panicker is “not the founding member of Congress in Nagaland and of the NECCC as claimed.” “He has also left the Congress party twice and rejoined later in accordance with his opportunistic politics. Secondly, the blackmailing habits of Panicker by leveling wild allegations against any leader with whom he disagrees has run its course as even the AICC leaders are now totally fed up with him and therefore refused to revoke his expulsion made by NPCC,” the press release said.

It further stated that “only Panicker along with K Therie knows how much AICC funded NPCC during elections held under their leadership but rampant mismanagement of the party organsiation and funds is evident by the nil results during their time.”

The NPYC further stated: “Many in the party are aware as to how a person who came to Nagaland as low ranked constable in IB and left the service after few years has managed to amass such a huge wealth beyond the imagination of common people.”

It further cautioned that the NPYC would not hesitate to “resort to picketing of his luxurious properties and expose them in the public domain to see which leader has benefitted at the expense of the party.”
