Dimapur, November 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) has welcomed the decision of Congress Working Committee to appoint Rahul Gandhi as AICC president. In its extended state executive meeting on November 8 at DCC office, Dimapur, NPYC also supported Rahul Gandhi’s statement on one rank one pension. In this regard, it will submit a memorandum to the President of India to implement one rank one pension and to provide the dues to the jawans “who protect our countrymen day and night.”
NPYC also resolved to undertake a year long program for remembering the former prime minister of India, Late Indira Gandhi by organizing programmes like clean election, sports events, music, art, quiz and essay competition among school and college students, informed a press release.
It will also undertake program to connect with the youth of Nagaland. The meeting further decided to complete organisation set up of DYC, AYC, VLYC and BLYC by December 2016. NPYC also allocated the district in-charge to the state executives. The Youth Congress also made a decision to start a new membership drive by January, 2017. Meanwhile, NPYC executives resolved to work under the PCC president for the betterment of the Congress party in the state.
The meeting, chaired by Hitilo Tep, president NPYC, was graced by Daiyan Hussian, IYC Secretary in charge of Nagaland. Kughato Aye, president, DCC Dimapur, DYC president, AYC president along with their colleagues from Dimapur district also attended the meeting.
