
Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Rifle Association (NRA) has announced that the 10th Nagaland Shooting Championship 2025 in Small Bore Rifle and Pistol events will be held from July 22 to 26 at the Aries Sports Complex Shooting Ranges, Bamunpukhuri-I, Dimapur.
The championship is being organised by the Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, Dimapur, and will be conducted by the NRA in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the NRAI Match Book 2024. Competitions will be held in individual events only.
In this connection, the NRA has invited participation and laid down terms and conditions for a smooth and successful conduct of the championship.
As per the Association, entries will be accepted only from registered shooters via their respective District Associations, Clubs, or Academies, and strictly through the NRAI’s online system at www.thenrai.org.
No paper entries will be entertained, it stressed.
Entries will be accepted with normal entry fees till July 18, 6:30 PM while there is option for late entry with triple fee till July 20, 6:30 PM.
Shooters needing assistance in filing entries are advised to contact the NRAI before 6:30 PM on July 18 to ensure eligibility for normal fee submission, the NRA said. For assistance, they may contact Anjan Singh at 9555046539 during working hours or email indiashooting@gmail.com, it informed.
Further, all shooters who have not received or applied for their shooter ID numbers must do so immediately via the NRAI website, it added.
In case of non-participation after submission, entry fees will not be refunded.
Meanwhile, the NRA informed that the entry fee per match will be Rs 800 or Rs 1000, depending on the type of event.
Age categories for participation:
Juniors: 21 years or below (born in 2004 or later)
Youth: 19 years or below (born in 2006 or later)
Sub Youth: 16 years or below (born in 2009 or later)
Masters: 45 to 60 years (born between 1965–1980)
Senior Masters: 61 to 70 years (born between 1955–1964)
Super Masters: 71 years and above (born in 1954 or earlier)
As per the NRA, Juniors may also participate in Senior category matches, while Youth shooters may compete in both Senior and Junior categories.
Sub Youth shooters can compete in all categories except Masters, Senior Masters, and Super Masters.
The NRA clarified that shooters under the age of 12 are not permitted to participate in firearm events during this championship.
As per the NRA, ammunition will be issued against payment only upon production of a valid arms license (by Associations/Clubs/Academies/Individuals) or a special permit from local licensing authorities. Unused and used rounds must be returned to the NRA.
