The Nagaland Rural Development Service Association (NRDSA) today requested the state government to implement the recommendations of the cadre review committee in letter and spirit at the earliest.

Resolving this in its annual conference held here today at Hotel Vivor, the Association extended its appreciation to the departmental cadre review committee headed by Toshi Aier, additional chief secretary and finance commissioner Nagaland for doing justice to the long felt grievances of the Association, in bringing out its unequivocal and unbiased recommendations in all fairness.

It also pledged to rededicate themselves to work for the welfare and upliftment of the rural poor.

It also requested the state government that the various posts under the newly created State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) be manned by the rural development department in-service cadres only.

The Association further reiterated that, “We will give our full cooperation to the state government in its endeavour towards development in the rural areas.”

The Association also approved its new team of office bearer for the tenure 2013- 2015 with Taliyanger as president, Nchungthung Ngullie- vice president, Sihu Bizo- general secretary, Kupto Sema- joint secretary and Neizovonuo as treasurer.

Later, parliamentary secretary for rural development C.L. John said the departmental cadre review is under consideration of the government and the committee fully constituted by government has taken a very positive stand on it and have submitted its recommendation to the government.

“I do strongly feel that review and reorganization of the department is a must, very genuine, and truly deserving. I can only assure you today with all my strength and capacity, I will accord top priority and personally pursue with all concerned departments and if required, with the highest authorities in the state till it is fruitfully materialized,” the parliamentary secretary said.

He also assured that his doors and heart will always be opened to hear from the Association for its welfare and shall sincerely endeavour to address issues and concerns positively.

Further, John requested the members of the Association to come forward with open mind and positive attitude so that “We together share the burden, responsibilities and overcome any problems.”
