NRLM assessment team visits Changtongya

Mokokchung, March 2 (MExN): In its endeavor to efficiently implement the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) in the state of Nagaland, a team of 9 Professional Resource Persons (PRPs) from OMPLIS (Orvakal Mandal Podhupu Lakshmi Ikya Sangam) Andhra Pradesh and 2 NSRLM staff visited Changtongya (Old) village on February 28, 2014. A press release informed that the purpose of the visit was to assess the villages under Changtongya Block concerning the livelihoods, socio-economic conditions, and the status of Self Help Groups (SHGs) in order to formulate an effective and rationale strategy for Community Resource Person (CRP) implementation in the state. During the course of the village visit, the assessment team interacted with the Village Councils and District Mission officials, SHG members (womenfolk) and also visited each household and took first hand information from the villagers.
