NRSU condemns assault on student in Noklak Town

NOKLAK, OCTOBER 8 (MExN): The Nokhu Range Students’ Union (NRSU) has expressed deep distress and condemnation over a violent incident in Noklak Town, in which a student from Nokhu Village, was reportedly assaulted. 

According to a press release issued by NRSU, the attack occurred on October 6, wherein the victim, a Class 10 student at Government High School, Noklak Village was assaulted allegedly by three assailants from Thang Village.

The NRSU described the attack as unprovoked and unjustified, calling the incident a grave threat to the peaceful coexistence valued by the community. “In a civilized society, such acts that disrupt harmony and safety must be condemned by all,” the Union stated, underscoring the importance of safeguarding Noklak's reputation as a center for education and a reflection of the Khiamniungan community's values.

The Union has urged the District Administration, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant authorities to take swift action to ensure the safety and well-being of students and residents in the town. It emphasized the need for a peaceful environment where individuals from all backgrounds can coexist harmoniously.

The NRSU extended its heartfelt prayers for the victim’s recovery and offered support to the student’s family during this challenging time.
