Participants during the awareness training on People’s Biodiversity Register and process of its verification held on May 26.

Kohima, May 27 (MExN): The Nagaland State Biodiversity Board (NSBB) had organised one day awareness training on People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR) and the process of its verification on May 26 at Kohima.
The training was held as part of the National Campaign on Updation cum Verification of People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR). The campaign was launched by the Union Minister of State for Environment as part of the National celebration of International Day for Biodiversity 2023 at Goa on May 23.
The training participants included college/university students from life sciences background and the members of Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) from different villages, Supongnukshi, IFS CCF & Member Secretary, State Biodiversity Board stated in a press release.
Subsequent to this training, 21 student participants were assigned several villages to carry out the PBR updation cum verification activity on May 27. It is expected that atleast 40 PBR verification process will be completed by June 4. All together there were 48 participants, the IFS stated.
The training and the field activity for PBR verification in Nagaland was supported by the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) and the NERAQ Project, GIZ.
