NSBSG conducted a Basic Course for Scout Masters and Guide Captains (1st phase for 2025) at the NSBSG State Headquarters Bayavü Hill Kohima from March 7 to 13.

Kohima, March 17 (MExN): The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) conducted a Basic Course for Scout Masters and Guide Captains (1st phase for 2025) at the NSBSG State Headquarters Bayavü Hill Kohima from March 7 to 13. 

A total of 33 participants (mostly teachers) from 8 districts including Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Kohima, Meluri, Noklak, Shamator, Wokha and Zunheboto attended the Basic Course, stated a press release received here. 

The Course covers up diverse basic skills on theoretical and practical sessions viz., the Fundamentals of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, what is Scouting/Guiding, History and Origin of Scouting, the Scout/Guide Salute, Sign, Motto, the Scout/Guide Promise and the Scout/Guide Law, Leadership Skills, Knottings, First-Aid, Compass, Drills, various Ceremonies, Campfire, How to open and run a Scout Troop and a Guide Company, Estimation, Woodcraft Signs, Hiking, Cooking without Utensils (Backwoodsman cooking), etc., 

The Basic Course was conducted by the State Training Team under the leadership of R Albert Solo, LT (S), State Training Commissioner (Scouts) and Kiyakhrienuo Solo ALT (G), State Training Commissioner (Guides). 

A Grand Campfire was held on March 12 evening where Founder of the Naga Mothers Association and Padmashree Recipient of 2024 Sano Vamuzo who is also the Vice President of the NSBSG graced the gathering as the Grand Campfire Chief. 

She encouraged and blest the participants with her invaluable words from her personal experiences as a Guide and former State Official. Spreading of Love and care for our Young people, knowing our own Origin and identity, Remembering God every single day, Doing a daily Good turn every day however small it may be, teaching and guiding young people to be an asset in the society, etc were part of her speech. 

The Basic Course (1st phase 2025) concluded on March 13 with a speech from State Commissioner (Guides) Nino Iralu who was also part of the Course. With the lowering of the Flag and National Anthem the Course officially came to an end. 

It may also be made known that the 1st State Level Adventure Programme for the members of NSBSG will be held from March 27 to 31.
