Kohima, July 14 (MExN): The Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd., the only apex-level agriculture credit institution in the state, has played a major role in providing credit needs both in the urban and rural farmers and artisans.
This institution is the only financing agency under cooperative sector, an official observed adding that it also provides a large number of extension services in the field of livestock and purchase of agriculture implements.
The bank has a network of 21 branches covering the far-flung areas in the state. In addition to normal functions, the bank acted as Project Implementing Agency (PIA) at Mokokchung, Wokha, Phek and Tuensang. During the year 2005-06, the state government has sanctioned Rs. 13.00 crore as state share capital to NSCB Ltd.
