NSCBMSN appreciates RN Ravi’s gesture, highlight his works

Kohima, September 13 (MExN): The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial Society Nagaland (NSCBMSN) extended its due appreciation  to RN Ravi for visiting Chozuba, Yoruba and Ruzazho villages during the ‘last day of his Governorship’ on September 9.

The visits illustrate his concern for the people and also assuring to undertake developmental works on the occasion of 75th India Independence and 125th birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose, a press release from the NSCBMSN stated. 

The Society further extended appreciated Ravi for visiting the places related with Bose in Ruzazho and interacting with “one of the last” of Bose's associates Poswuyi Swuro

Ravi is one of the few Governors who took keen interest in the upliftment of the State through his personal intervention in various field be it infrastructure development like roads, health care facilities, law and order, academic, etc, it said. 

He was not only instrumental in facilitating peace deals inking like Framework Agreement with NSCN (IM) and Agreed Position with 7 NNPGs but he tried to bring order in the midst chaos like Naga national politics, it added. 

The former governor was also concerned with the system of education prevailing in the state and initiated ‘Young Scholars Fellowship’ to study on the improvement of education system in the State, the NSCBMSN said. 

During his tenure, Ravi was keen in projecting the history of the region so far overlooked but these initiative seemed to have been “viewed with lots of mistrust, misunderstanding or misinterpreted outright and again we still complain that our region and history has been neglected by the mainstream,” it pointed out. 

In this context, the NSCBMSN regretted that the tenure of one of the most efficient and effective Governors of the State has been cut short “most untimely.”

“But time will unfold what we have lost and rue the pragmatism of his visions and concerns sooner or later,” further conveying it best wishes on his new assignment and future endeavors.
