NSCN factions honor people’s voice to move out

Kohima, May 29 (MExN): Honoring the public demand, both the factions of the NSCN today agreed to move out of Zunheboto Town after a closed door meeting between the two groups in the presence of Zunheboto Town Council Chairman, members and some NGO leaders. Although details of the outcome of the said meeting could not be obtained, sources said that, after two and half hour long meeting, NSCN (K) agreed to move out of the town by today itself, while NSCN (IM) is also likely to follow suit.

Sources said that NSCN (IM) was represented by its Deputy Kilonser Vikeyie and two Tartars, while NSCN (K) was represented by its Brigadier Nikki Sumi. Zunheboto Town Council Chairman, members and NGOs were present. The meeting started around 3:30 pm and ended at 6:00 pm.

However, district administrations, Police and other security forces were kept in the dark about the meeting. Sources also said that the public of Zunheboto has become strong and active and had managed to bring the two groups for talks over one table.
The Sumi Hoho, Women Organization, Zunheboto Town Council and Churches worked round the clock to restore normalcy in the town after the tense situation that occurred from May 24.
