Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): The NSCN-IM today held out a “passing out” ceremony of its 5th batch at “Mt. Gilead Training Center.” “Major” Johny Dilbung, MIP Kilonser was chief guest while Kitoho, Tatar was the guest of honor. A note from the MIP stated that the ceremony was attended by many “rank and file” of the NSCN-IM and exhorted the new cadres.
Addressing the ceremony, the Kilonser reminded the new batch that God create each individual with a purpose and “today your purpose of being here is to serve your nation.” He called them “fortunate people” for they would be “serving” not only the people but also “our living God.” The Kilonser also claimed that the Naga nation upholds the emblem of “Nagaland for Christ” under which “we are struggling to emancipate ourselves from external suppression.” “The Naga people have embrace this insignia with commitment to strive ahead by Christ and live in abiding by the Christian ethics” he asserted adding that in every revolutionary movement, as “committed patriots” the new entrants should abstain from “all materialistic lusts, desires, envy and Christian ways and sacrifice your selfless service in your everyday lives ahead for our nation.”
To the new cadres, the Kilonser drew allegory to the Japanese Samurai saber. “Like the Japanese Samurai that is heated and hammered a thousand times so that it can withstand through even iron objects and remain undamaged; you have also been imparted a trial of physical and mental stress by your training instructions…the sterner and harsher the trainer was, is for their love and hope for you to survive and serve our nation tomorrow” Kilonser Dilbung exhorted the new cadres.
Congratulating the new batch, the Kilonser encouraged them to prepare to engage in duties of the people and courageously confront any eventuality. His concluded his speech by stating thus: “…there are three categories of people – there are some people who wonder what things happen, there are some people who watch things happen and there are some people who make things happen.” He reminded them that now it is in their hands which category to be in. “To be in the category of making things happen one must have patience tolerance, moral-discipline and endurance, and above all, always pray to God he reminded.
