DIMAPUR, AUGUST 17 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has stated that there were elements succumbing to adverse forces to humiliate the Naga people and tarnish the social fabric and the uniqueness of Naga identity and affirmed that it upheld the unity and integrity of the Nagas. “While the Nagas are striving for our identity as a people, it is unfortunate to encounter elements of anti-Naga and anti-national at our hearth”, an MIP statement issued by the NSCN (IM) stated and pointed out that such elements were becoming tools of the Naga people’s adversaries.
“The resort to divisive exhibition in order to escape isolation remains a reality impossible to deny. When the Nagas desire for a unified identity as a people is being aspired, would the rejection of ones own brethrens across artificially imposed boundaries be recognized an act justified of patriotic nationalism”, it stated referring to the NSCN (K) and questioned as to whether “the Khaplang people” had betrayed the Nagas.
“The question is why are they issuing threats to all the Naga representatives and leaders? Is tribalism their objective or Naga nationalism above all else?” the NSCN (IM) questioned and remarked that “Nagas have confronted different adverse situations during the course of our struggle and every time the Khaplang group happens to be across the fence”. The NSCN (IM) alleged that the NSCN (K) had remained hand in glove with the opposing forces of Naga people’s desire to undermine all endeavors of achieving a permanent peace.
“No Nagas can be excluded, murdered or chased out of our own land at ones insane whims, for the blood of any race cannot be changed as God has created us so”, it was stated.
The NSCN (IM) at the same time counseled the NSCN (K) to “reconcile from their wrong ideology of anti-people and introspect where they are focused on.” “Are they to liberate or strangulate the Nagas with their illogical dictates?”
It also cautioned that all wrongs committed on innocent Nagas in the name of nationalism will be adjudicated upon the criminal and terrorists according to their deeds, “as right will always win over wrong as any stage of time”.
The NSCN (IM) also stated that the NSCN (K) will be held accountable in the event of any eventuality of “divisive and bloody misadventures in Nagalim as declared” and that the GPRN will not permit anti-Naga campaigns to prevail in Nagalim and respond befittingly in the same coin against all inimical forces, “for our national principles will reign supreme over all antagonistic forces”.
