DIMAPUR, JANUARY 17 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today alleged that its Steering Executive member, ZD Bon was “abducted by the 14 Sikh Regiment under Tamei Batallion Headquarters, Tamenglong district, in the morning of January 16” at Bhalok/Phalong junction. A press note from the MIP, NSCN (IM) stated that the senior leader was “abducted” while “he was returning home along with family members, including children and mother in law after attending a function.”
“At a time when Nagas are expecting final and peaceful solution from the prolonged peace negotiation between India and Nagas represented by the NSCN, frequent raids, arresting and targeting the national workers by the Indian armed forces/agencies is undermining ceasefire ground rules and the peace talks itself,” it stated.
“Should Government of India (GoI) say it as lack of coordination to control their armed forces and condone it?” the NSCN (IM) questioned and said that the long awaited peaceful solution should not be relegated to the backburner due to “such un-mindful action of Indian armed forces.”
It asked the Government of India to immediately control its soldiers to “behave and adhere to the agreed ceasefire ground rules and the abducted senior leader ZD Bon be released unconditionally.”
