Dimapur, November 9 (MExN): The NSCN-IM charges rival faction NSCN-K of collaborating with the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) to target the former faction. Stating that the NSCN-K is “testing the nerve of the NSCN by using Meitei elements to kill NSCN boys” the NSCN-IM MIP informed that “lest the NSCN is blamed for hitting back…diminishing patience is at the disposal of the Naga army”
Stating this to the Naga civil society particularly to the GBs/ DBs joint forum, the NSCN-IM stated that on November 8 two cadres of the NSCN-IM were abducted by NSCN-K cadres from Longkhem. The NSCN-K cadres wee commanded by one “Meitei Mahesh.” The dead body of “pte.” Ringmaya of Paoyi village was found the same night while the whereabouts of ‘others’ is not known, the MIP stated.
The MIP stated that ever since the peace process was initiated by the GBs and DBs joint forum and “even reaching Hebron to get the nod of the GPRN,” the reaction of the Khaplang faction ‘was noncommittal and deceptive.’ “The Longkhem incident is just another incident when Khaplang group kills the NSCN members in the manner that goes against the spirit of reconciliation” it stated.
The NSCN-IM also reiterated on the killings of 7 of its cadres over the course of the last two months including the killing of NSCN-IM chaplain PK stone and his wife on September 8. “In the context of revolutionary principle the provocative killings of Khaplang who went to the extent of calling in Meitei group to attack the Naga members of NSCN is something that cannot be forgiven easily. The reality has to be handled in the manner demanded by it. Because the greater interest of the Naga political issue that is under process cannot be put at stake just because of the pseudo-Naga group” it stated.
