Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today issued clarifications on the reported 10 Chang underground cares defecting to the “GPRN/NSCN.” According to a note from the Chang region, the defectors have been violating ‘discipline’ time and again and also been indulging in anti-social activities in the “jurisdiction.” It was also clarified that there were only nine cadres and the other, one Thungtymongba, was a civilian. The note said HY Chingmak, ‘tatar,’ has “decamped” from the NSCN (IM) to the FGN and then to the NSCN (K) “within a week” and another, one I Imlong has also ‘decamped’ for “at least three times.” Similarly, one Tochi, a ‘leacy,’ “was five times defectors to various faction,” the NSCN (IM) of the Chang region said. The NSCN (IM) has also taken action against H Wongto, a ‘leacy,’ for anti-social activities in ‘2007-2008’ while Tiakhaibou, an “ASO”, is also said to have involved in illegal taxation in the past. Dues to these reasons, they have defected, the Chang region said. The note also reaffirmed sticking to a “reconciliation” resolution said to have been taken on May 11, 2004, under the aegis of the Chang Khulei Setshang and that the Chang people does not recognize any other faction except the NSCN (IM) in the Chang’s land.
