
Says 6 individuals were detained for various offences
DIMAPUR, APRIL 29 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has issued a clarification over the statement made by the Assam Rifles wherein it reported of rescuing six abducted individuals held captive by the NSCN (IM) for ransom from a house in Bamunpukhri, Dimapur on April 28.
In a clarification note, the MIP, NSCN (IM) termed the AR press statement which appeared in various print and news channel as ‘fabricated’ and to set record straight for any misconception sought to explain why these individuals were detained at the UT correction cell.
The NSCN (IM) claimed that two person detained on April 13 & 25 respectively were loan fraudsters. Another two was detained on April 21 for possessing illegal SP capsules (15000 pieces) and 100 kilo of Gangja. It also claimed that one person was detained on April 27 for possessing 2 soap case of heroin. Another was also detained on April 27 for forging documents.
While considering the rampant growth of drugs users among young Nagas especially between the age group of 15 to 25, the NSCN (IM) said it was necessary to curb the menace which have now spread even to the remotest villages at the earliest possible.
It also alleged that the second group of people that were detained at UT correction cell were frequent monetary fraudsters with a record of duping people on multiple occasions and still continuing to cheat people using fake land patta and buildings.
Stating that most of the victims are poor innocent widows and orphans who are socially of low status and unable to fight for their own right, the NSCN (IM) welcomed any concerned can view their complaint letters addressed to its office.
The NSCN (IM), meanwhile, appealed the law enforcing agencies including the Assam Rifles to nab inter-state drug traffickers and bring them before the law “if they really wanted to rescue people rather than focusing only on rescuing drug peddlers, fraudsters and criminals.”
