Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has condemned the Manipur Police Commandos for arresting four innocent Naga publics “without any rhyme or reason”.
The four – namely Ningkhangam Muivah, Ramthem Muivah, Chonreisem Phungshok, and Vivian Ruivah – were arrested from Imphal on October 27.
Refuting allegations that the four arrested persons were “over-ground workers” of the NSCN, the MIP in a statement stated that the four “have no connection with NSCN whatsoever.” They have been confirmed as “law abiding citizens” of Somdal Village, the MIP added.
“Branding them as NSCN (IM) over ground workers simply on the basis of person belonging to a particular community and falsely implicating them and framing malicious charges is an heinous act,” the MIP statement asserted.
Condemning the actions, the NSCN (IM) warned the Manipur Government to “desist from indulging in such activities”. It also asked the Manipur Police to immediately release the four without any condition.
