
DIMAPUR, MAY 26 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has condemned the ongoing violence in violence in Manipur and termed the situation as “detestable.”
A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) said that attacks against villages is very inhuman; burning down of places of worship is considered as sacrilegious acts committed on religious lines; and all these acts of violence are violation of human rights that are applicable to all members of human society.
The NSCN (IM) meanwhile put on record that the “Naga minor tribes” of Aimol, Chiru, Chothe, Kharam, Koireng, and Kom are “part of Naga community and have been actively involved in the Nagas’ political struggle for their freedom from India and Myanmar till our goal is achieved.”
“Our Meitei brothers and Kukis should not take them otherwise and harass them in any manner. It is a matter of regret that one Kom village Kangathei village has come under attack by the Kuki militants and the villagers forced to vacate their Kangathei village,” the NSCN (IM) said.
Such vicious violence will only aggravate the situation and this must be put to stop forthwith for the sake of humanity and peaceful coexistence, it appealed.
