
Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed grief at untimely demise of (L) Colonel (Retd) Howoto Zhimomi from Izheto village under Sumi Region on January 27. He enrolled in the Naga national service on July 3, 1985.
“He served the Naga nation with unwavering national spirit until his demise. The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For his selfless contribution to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifice ever be cherished by all,” the NSCN (IM) stated while conveying condolences to the bereaved family members and also pray to the Almighty God to grant his soul eternal peace and rest.
Chairman of NSCN (IM), Q Tuccu in a condolence message also expressed pain at the passing away of Colonel (Rtd) Howoto Zhimo.
“It is a profound loss, not only for his family, friends, but also for NSCN. He was stalwart National worker who never fail in his assigned duties, as we mourn his passing away, we are reminded of his determined contribution over many decades to the struggle for freedom,” the chairman stated in a condolence message.
Stating that late Zhimo was a man with great principle who resolute in his commitment to the people of Nagas and for the cause of freedom of Nagalim, Tuccu said, “the NSCN has lost a beloved son and an outstanding patriot.”
The NSCN (IM) expressed condolence to the bereaved family with prayers that the Almighty God will give strength and solace at this hour of grief and sorrow.
