NSCN (IM) denounces ‘reckless publication’ of old news

Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has denounced one media person Dil Bar Irshad for what it termed as “out of context” reckless publication of a news story titled, “Tense Stand-off in Dimapur: NSCN (IM) cadres and Assam Rifles Faceoff Near Patkai College.” The article was dated “01 March 2024 08:26 EST,” informed a press release from MIP, NSCN (IM). 

“No wonder this incident happened more than one decade ago and for no reason this none-existing stand-off was made to go viral,” it said. 

“It is highly unethical for media persons to sensationalise news report that doesn’t exist at all. NSCN holds no responsibility for such baseless news-viral,” it added. 

The article was published in BNN, a new online entity with “commitment is to deliver honest, fact-based, and unbiased international reporting that can be trusted” as per its website.  Irshad is described as an “international correspondent for BNN.”
