Dimapur, June 3 (MExN): Following the assassination of FGN Kilonser Imnungmar Jamir, the FGN has reacted against the NSCN (IM) maintaining that it was destroying the foundation of the Naga people and that if the latter wants to fight a ‘holy war’ they should go to ‘Afghanistan or Iraq but not in Nagaland.’
According to the FGN Maidan Peyu of Sumi Region V Phutoi Zhimomi, the NSCN (IM) use the words “Nagaland for Christ” in their seals but they have used the seal to approve “Ahza” (orders) for killings, extortions, threatening and leveling false accusations for the past more than two decades. “Killing the innocent Nagas or fighting against their own Nagas cannot be ‘Holy war’ as they (NSCN-IM) announced on 28th May through the media. If they are fighting for Muslim holy war, let them go and fight in Afghanistan or in Iraq but not in Nagaland because Nagaland is a Christian state” the Maidan Peyu stated adding that the NSCN (IM) are traitors and have no point to justify for killing Nagas “because if they are patriots they will not kill the Nagas”.
Maintaining that the Naga nation was founded on “the rock of the NNC” and on this foundation the Nagas are fighting against the ‘aggressors,’ India, the FGN stated that Th. Muivah was willingly “accepted” by the people and made him as General Secretary of the NNC. “But now he is fighting against the NNC so, he is destroying the foundation of Nagaland” the FGN stated.
Paying tributes to the slain FGN leader Imnungmar Jamir, the Maiden Peyu said that Jamir was a happy man and always had a smiling continence for everyone as much as his propensity to help others who are in need. “He was helping the poor students from the Eastern part of Nagaland, for schooling here in Kohima town, Dimapur and Mokokchung.
He brought more than 50 students last year 2005 and arranged for their schooling” Zhimomi stated adding that the assassination of the FGN leader was of great loss to the people. The FGN official also conveyed his condolence to the bereaved family members and relatives and prayed that the God almighty grant comfort and solace to all of them.
