Dimapur, August 11(MExN): The NSCN (IM) today disclaimed the August 10 reports that it was hobnobbing with Boro group NDFB, following the arrest of two reportedly NSCN (IM) cadres along with an NDFB cadre in Assam. A note from the NSCN (IM) today, also disclaimed that the two cadres as members of the Naga group.
The two “suspected NSCN cadres” were arrested from Ghoshkata village on August 7 along with one cadre of the anti-talk faction of NDFB. The two cadres were identified by the MIP note as one Lukiya Sema and a Hovishe Chishi of Pihekhu village under Niuland in Dimapur. The NSCN (IM) took note that it has been “indulging” with NDFB and UFLA in subversive activities in the lower Assam districts “on or before 15th August.”
The MIP denied what it claimed is a “such random allegation” and the two said persons were not associated with the NSCN (IM) in any way. “NSCN/GPRN denied such random allegation in the strongest term and clarified in no uncertain term that the two arrested persons were in no way associated or members of the NSCN cadres.”
Interestingly; the outfit also “advise” (sic) the media to be cautious and “not to be so hurry” in giving “such false publication” without “proper confirmation, identification and proof.” The note further claimed that it was nothing but a “deliberate attempt” to “damage” the “image and reputation”
of the group “before the general public.”
