Dimapur, October 6 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today dismissed a report by a national news agency regarding purported clashes between NSCN (IM) and ZUF as ‘mischievous’ act by Indian security agencies.
The news report titled, “Clashes between NSCN (IM) & ZUF concern Centre” was carried by a local media on October 6.
The NSCN (IM)’s Ministry of Publicity, reacting to the news, issued a press release on October 6 terming it as mischievous and “an act of irresponsibility exercised by Indian security agencies giving a wrong picture of the ground reality in Nagaland.”
“In recent period, there is no heavy clashes/fighting of any kind anywhere in Nagaland involving NSCN,” it said.
Accusing the “Indian security establishment” of trying to project NSCN (IM) in a bad light, the MIP release pointed to “feeding wrong information to the news agencies to misguide the Home Ministry, Government of India.”
In this connection, it said that unauthenticated reports, especially concerning Nagaland, be avoided in future.
