Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The Khiamniungan National Workers of NSCN (IM) and Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC) along with other civil society groups held a consultative meeting on February 15 in Noklak. The NSCN (IM) was led by Kilonser Major (Retd) NS Thangpong and Steering Committee member M Longshen.
The meeting focused on the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks, particularly Pan Naga Hoho, said a press release issued by Khiamniungan National Workers.
The Khiamniungan people appreciated the NSCN (IM) members on the progress of Indo-Naga political talks and the decision taken on Pan Naga Hoho “if it would benefit the whole Nagas.”
The Khiamniungan people also reminded the mandate given to the negotiating team by the Naga people, while expressing hope that the Naga political problem be solved at the earliest.
The Khiamniungan Hoho, however, showed their concern for the Eastern Khiamniungan in particular and other Nagas in Myanmar. They urged the negotiating team to “leave no scope for doubt on Pan Naga Hoho.”
Besides others, members from the KTC, led by its President L Ngon, attended the meeting.
