NSCN (IM) meets Naga churches in Chandel

Ruwngthung Hrangbung Chandel | February 9   AC battalion of NSCN (IM) in Chandel district organised a consultative meet cum prayer for Naga churches in Chandel today.   The Consultation was held under the theme of “Role of churches in the Naga peace process and church response to social problems and land issues” in collaboration with Chandel District Christian Forum (CDCF) at district headquarters' Abungni Baptist Church.  

About 200 participants including Rev. Vitovi Yeptho and Vikuto Kappo, both from CNC, Hebron, leaders and pastors of all Naga churches, tribe presidents, chiefs, prayer group members’ attended the program.   Besides reaffirming the previous resolution and declaration of the Naga people and extending support, appreciation and acknowledgment to the GoI and NSCN in signing the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015, other important resolutions adopted in the meeting include: to organise fasting prayer on the first Sunday of every month, urging elected MLA's and MDCs to work for land issues, and churches to work for protection of land.   The main speakers of the meet included Central Pastor, Council of Nagalim Churches, Reverend Dheutui Zeme, PRO of AC BN, K Wangshol, CNPO president Ws Kanral Anal and Chief Administrative Officer of Khurmi region Ts Prem.   The meet also saw several other important personalities giving speeches.   Dheutui Zeme highlighted and spoke on the present Framework Agreement signed between the GoI and NSCN in the gathering.   Ws Kanral Anal highlighted various land issues and other problems of the district while Ts Prem in his speech appealed to the church leaders for support in prayer for an early and acceptable solution.   During the meeting a  mass prayer was also held for peace talks which was led by president of CDCF Rev Longam.
