
Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on Tuesday mourned the demise of nine of its members in the recent past.
The departed members included RK Prescila, Member of Steering Committee of Zailad Region, who passed away on January 15 while Maj (Retd.) Jessie Pamei, Deputy Kilonser of Zailad Region died on January 28 in Dimapur. Both died after prolong illnesses, the NSCN (IM) informed.
On January 17, Mayarshang Zimik, Razou Peyu from Hangkokaphung under WTR passed away while K Luke, Tatar, from Khongdei Khuman village under SPMTH Region, GPRN passed away on February 1. The causes of death of both were illnesses.
Meanwhile, Temsumongba, Khapur of Longmisa village under Ao Region died on February 7 due to illness while Corporal (posthumous) Lovingson Yangting Kaham of Huthrong Brigade from Angkaiongdi village under Thangal-Maram Region, GPRN passed away on February 4 after a brief illness.
On February 5, 2nd Lieutenant Mungshang Ashang of AC Battalion from Kachaophung village, WTR also died following a cardiac arrest.
Capt (posthumous) Wungmareo from Phalee village under WTR and posted at GHQ also passed away recently.
Meanwhile, on February 13, P Keng, Razou Peyu under Maram-Thangal Region and belonging to Ngatan village lost his life in a hit and run incident.
In a condolence message, the NSCN (IM) stated that is indebted for the service rendered by them for cause of the Naga political issue. “Their sacrificial spirits and dedication for the Naga nation shall be recorded in the pages of Naga history,” it stated.
It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved families of the departed members. “We pray that the Almighty God grant them the strength and comfort to bear the loss. It is our wish and prayers that their souls rest in eternal peace.
