Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) party meeting commenced today at its council headquarters at Hebron where different matters were put up for discussion.
A press release issued by the MIP of GPRN/NSCN (IM) stated that the party meeting was attended by more than a thousand national workers from both the civil and military set-ups.
The release, while giving a highlight of the proceedings of the day, stated that the morning session, which began at 10 am, was moderated by Rev A Puni, Kilo Kilonser while the invocation was pronounced by Rev Seksim. The release stated that the NSCN (IM), Isak Chishi Swu, unfurled the national flag and also exhorted the congregation, after which, followed a special presentation by the General Headquarters’ Choir.
The convenor of Steering Committee, Qhevihe Chishi Swu highlighted the manifesto of the Naga national freedom struggle, the reasons for change of nomenclatures in the process of the national movement from (NNC/FGN to NSCN/GPRN) and philosophical differences, stated the release.
The release stated that the Emissary to the collective leaders, Lt Gen (Retd) VS Atem conveyed the paper presentation to the house or discussion during the evening session which began from 1:30 pm. The house interacted upon paper presentation of the chairman and emissary, and issues relevant to the NSCN/GPRN and discussed on positive reformative measures by up holding Naga political philosophy, ideology and the ethics of revolutionaries, stated the release. “Retrospection, introspection and self discipline appropriate to contemporary times in the greater interest of the Naga people and its nation were seriously focused during the meeting” stated the release and added that the evening session was adjourned till May 3 next.
