
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 21 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) is poised for more formal talks with the Government of India on October 24.
This was informed in a press release from the Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) General Secretary, Ikato Chishi Swu today, which called for a day of prayer and fasting on October 23.
Among other “prayer points,” the CNC urged all to pray for a “positive outcome of the formal talk to be held on October 24 between NSCN and GoI.”
“Considering the perilous situation that we are confronted with, wherein, our nation’s history, our God given identity and the fate of our people are being endangered by forces within and without, the CNC believes that, it is the bounden duty of every churches and members of God in Nagalim to ceaselessly and fervently pray to God for his intervention, protection and deliverance,” the CNC press release stated.
It asked “all regions, brigades, battalions and units of NSCN and all the churches and individuals in Nagalim to seriously observe a day of fasting and prayer” on the day.
The other “prayer points” included “protection of the identity, history, and political rights of the Nagas;” “to let Naga people submit to the will of God so that, together we can build our nation for Christ; for “Indian leaders to let them respect and recognise the God given flag and constitution of Nagalim;” and for “our Chief Negotiator Th Muivah and the talk team to let God grant them good health, sound mind and wisdom.”
